Welcome to Christmas Cheer!
We Need You!
We are an all-volunteer group that delivers prepared meals and toys to Chicagoland homebound and hungry on Christmas Day. Christmas Cheer has been in existence for over twenty years, growing larger each year. On Christmas Day, over twenty thousand (20,000) are served meals and toys are given to around 1/3 of the recipients who are children. Christmas Cheer meals and toys are delivered to people in Chicago and 35 or more suburbs. The names are secured from public service agencies, schools, township service offices, churches, and people who call for help. Its success is based on contributions from community members and local business owners and hundreds of volunteers. The need for volunteers and donations grows annually. In addition to Christmas Day, Christmas Cheer serves various communities and assisted care and children’s residences by acting as an agent for distribution of foods and gifts. In November, Christmas Cheer is deeply involved with several organizations including the Northern Illinois Food Depository in the distribution of residual food and goods from the Private Label Manufacturing Association Show.
